Bollywood actor and host Salman has been found guilty in Bombay High Court today. The Judge found the accused actor guilty and sentenced him to five years in prison for killing a homeless man in the hit and run case which took place in 2002. Before leaving for court the handsome actor in his late 40’s hugged his family members.
One of the prosecutions came forward and told the Indian court that Salman – was drunk at the time of the accident that took place in 2002 and that he also faces charges of negligent driving and causing harm to the innocent victims who were sleeping on the pavement. The star was so drunk that he lost control of his SUV and moved in a fast and uncontrolled manner into a group of five innocent homeless people.
On September 28, 2002, the actor got himself into a big trouble in Mumbai while ramming his SUV into an American Express Bakery at suburban Bandra and killing a man on the spot outside the bakery who was in deep sleep and injuring four others. He was arrested for negligent driving and was charged with culpable homicide, but the charges however were later dropped. Few years later in 2013, he was again charged with culpable homicide to which he pleaded not guilty.
The 49 year old has been granted a two days interim bail by the Bombay High Court. The appeal that has been filed by the star’s lawyers will be heard on Friday.
Just a day ago, Shah Rukh Khan stopped by Salman’s place to show his support. Salman’s sister Arpita and her husband were also seen visiting her brother. There are rumors spreading that Salman’s ex girlfriend Katrina Kaif too got in contact with the star by giving him a call.
