Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure star Austin Butler has wrapped up shooting for his upcoming indie comedy movie called ‘Dude’ 4 weeks ago and is currently in the post-production stage. He booked a role late last year and since then has already completed shooting for the movie . The comedy film is produced by Jen Isaacson, Heather Rae, Andrew Duncan, Langley Perer and Jimmy Miller and directed and written by Olivia Milch. The plot follows the storyline of four teenagers who deal with their lives after high school. Starring in the movie are Lucy Hale, Alexandra Shipp, Awkwafina and Kathryn Prescott in the lead roles. Followed by the rest of the cast, Austin Butler, Austin Abrams, Alex Wolff and Ronen Rubinstein. The International rights was handled by ICM Partners.
The shooting for the Indie Film began on November 30, 2015 and has been wrapped up recently. 2016 happens to be a big year for Butler because his TV series “The Shannara Chronicles” has premiered on January 5th. The pilot received 1.03M U.S viewers ratings which in my opinion wasn’t so good. After the pilot, the ratings began falling from 1.03M to 0.75M as of episode 4 which aired on January 19th. When it comes to new shows premiering, ratings always matter. The higher the ratings are, the higher will be the chances of the show being renewed for another season which the producers of the show are really looking forward to. With the ratings falling, the future of the show does not look good at all. MTV is very strict when it comes to ratings. Shows like “Teen Wolf” and “Switched at Birth” have doing well in the ratings wise ever since they premiered in 2011 and have been receiving positive responses from the critics.
If the TSC ratings keep falling then the show is bound to be canceled. But that won’t be the end of the world for the 23 year old actor, because he can always return to the hit show “Switched at Birth” as Wilke. He was last seen of SAB in 2012.
