The Shannara Chronicles star Austin Butler has been confirmed to have auditioned for the role of Red Ranger’s Jason in the Liongate’s reboot “Power Rangers” as of Friday, October 2, 2015. Lionsgate is currently in search for someone to portray the character of Jason, now that Dean Israelite is attached to direct the movie. Auditioning for the role has already begun and many actors have started testing for the role of the young man, and female actresses have also started audition for the role of Kimberley aka the Pink Ranger. Many stars have been reported to have tested for the role of the lead characters including actor Austin Butler who had starred in the movie “The Intruders” as Noah Henry opposite actress Miranda Cosgrove.
According to sources, the movie will be produced by Brian Casentini, Haim Saban and Allison Shearmur, and written by Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller. The story is about a group of high school students who end up finding themselves with one of the unique superpowers who use their abilities to save the world. The original series was created by Shuki Levy. The movie is reported to hit the theater on January 17, 2017 which has not been confirmed yet as it all depends on how long it will take the casting agents to cast the characters, and when the shooting will begin and will be completed. With many celebrities testing for the roles, will Austin end up getting fortunate to land the lead role, or will he end up being cast as one of the two male lead characters in Jason’s team. That would be interesting too. As long as he’s part of the film. Butler got the looks, style and all that, which can assist him to end up winning the role of Jason or any of the two characters besides the Power Rangers himself.
Just that for the role of Jason, he will have to get rid of his long hair.
It will soon be declared whoever ends up winning the role of Jason, and whether “The Intruders” actor will end up being part of the movie.
