George Shelley is no longer a member of British Boy band Union J as of March 3rd 2016. The decision is said to have been an amicable one according to the remaining three members, Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley and that they will miss their former member a lot. After his departure, the boys are currently in search for a replacement who is all set to join the band in the next few weeks. George left the band to focus on his Acting and Broadcasting career according to his representative. His change of attitude came after he finished 2nd on the 15th series of reality show “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” and then went on to book a role in a TV show. The I’m a Celebrity contestant released a statement that “It was a mutual decision between him and the boys to continue without him, and that there’s no hard feelings left behind…he’s grateful for the experience and the journey he has had with the band“.
George’s sister had something to say on her Twitter account on March 4th, which was retweeted by her brother. “George and the band agreed to a press statement and gave comments which will be out today“. and “It’s unfair that things have been said before he had a chance to say his part“. As of March 4th, Shelley is busy with his new trainer as he tries to get fit. This is what he tweeted just 16 hours ago “Gym. Got to get fit in 2 weeks, good job I have the best trainer”. Does he have a new project lined up? For which he requires a lot of training? Only time will tell.
The 22 year old former Union J member has recently hosted The Brits Red Carpet Live, that’s not all he has also wrapped up shooting a part for British Sitcom “Murder in Successville” second series. In late 2015, he had joined a radio station and as of 2016, he has now booked a full time job on FM Breakfast Show as a Presenter alongside Lilah Parsons. And guess what? He’s actually good at it, and is loving his job.
