American actress Miranda Rae Mayo who has recently left the recurring role of Zoe Browning on soap opera ‘Days of our Lives’, has been cast as a series regular on ABC’s “Blood and Oil”, replacing actress Caitlin Carver after the show was looking for a recast. She has been cast in the lead role of Lacey Briggs, previously played in the pilot by Caitlin. The writers of the show let her go, because they were looking for someone slightly older to play the role, and they found the replacement in the former “Days of our Lives” actress who left the NBC months ago. This is the first time the actress has bagged the lead role in the television series.
The news about her signing a contract with the upcoming show ‘Blood and Oil’ was first revealed by Deadline.com. The 24 year old actress is represented by Abrams Artists and Spectrum Productions will be joining Chace Crawford, Amber Valletta, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Don Johnson, and many others. She has recently starred in few episodes of the television series “Days of our Lives”, “Pretty Little Liars”, and “True Detective”, and has two movies in the post-production stage that is set to release later this year : “The Girl in the Photographs” and “We Are Your Friends”. The actress first made her acting debut in the year 2011, when she guest-starred in an episode of “Law & Order: LA” as a character named Anna.
The rising star Mayo has been featured in the magazine cover of GQ Magazine of Australia. She had earlier met her co-star actor Adan Canto, and shared her excitement on her Twitter account, calling him a gem of a human and is excited to be working together. Just when she left the role of Chad DiMera’s love interest, she has gone on to star in a new project. It’s good that her talent is finally being noticed, and she was cast as a lead in the new television series.
