George Shelley has made his acting debut by landing a guest role in the television 2nd series of ‘Murder in Successville’. The shooting of the show has started last week, with George portraying the role of a detectvie. Starring alongside Shelley in the British sitcom series are Mark Wright, Emma Bunton, Vicki Pattison and Chris Kamara. The Union J band member had expressed about his acting plans ever since he finished as a runner up on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” in late 2015. Ever since he was young, he wanted to be an actor, but then singing happened to him which made him push aside his love for acting for a bit. But after finding his success with Union J, he decided to take a break on music, to focus on his love for acting. He has already auditioned for the TV and Movie roles, and is waiting to hear back from the casting agents.
Murder in Successville season 2 will consist of all-new six-part series. According to the Production company Tiger Aspect, the show will see the return of D.I. Sleet (Played by actor Tom Davis) into the streets of Successville, this time with a new batch of celebrity sidekicks. The first series had also aired for 6 episodes in 2015. It will be interesting on seeing how the 22 year old singer will help to solve the crime scene. As for the Union J fans, no need to worry because he’s not leaving the band, the band are on a break which is why he’s focusing on other things now. He’s the first from the band to pursue an acting career, just like Josh Cuthbert pursued a modeling career.
Earlier this month the I’m A Celebrity star has been rumored to have bagged a role in the television series ‘Hollyoaks’ after the producers heard about his interest in acting and decided to offer him one. It looks like this is the beginning of Shelley’s road to acting roles.
