Mistresses star Justin Hartley is rumored to leave the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” for an upcoming action Primetime television series”Macgyver” reboot. The 38 year old actor may land the lead role of Angus Macgyver which was first played by actor Richard Dean Anderson from 1985 to 1992. CBS’s decision to remake the adventure television series after such a long time may come as a surprise to some, but not to others. The show is best known for airing for more then 7 years before going off air. If Justin does get cast in the lead role of Angus, then his fans will watch the show for sure, as the soap opera actor is one of the famous soap opera actors in the world.
The Challenger’s actor would love to play such a great role, I mean who wouldn’t? I can’t think of any other actor who would be able to portray the role the way Hartley could. We all loved him on Passions when he played the role of Fox Crane and now on Mistresses as Scott Trosman. If he does land the role of Angus then he will have to leave behind the contract role of Adam Newman which he has been playing since 2014 to try on something new. His departure will make the casting directors to recast the role of Adam and look for a new actor to fill in his shoes, who will portray the role just as good as he did. Will Michael Muhney rejoin the show as Adam after being fired in 2013? Or will Chris Egen come back to portray the role which he played from 2008 up to 2009? Or Will the show look for someone new to portray the role? Or will the character of Adam be killed off or written off for a bit like he could land in Coma?
Justin was previous married to his Passion’s co-star Lindsay Hartley before splitting up with her in 2012. He is currently in a relationship with former “Days of our Lives” actress Chrishell Stause.
