Michelle Keegan has reportedly booked a lead role in the BBC drama series “Our Girl” replacing actress Lacey Turner who played the lead role of Molly Dawes in the first-part five series in 2014. Due to her commitment with EastEnders, Turner decided not to return for the 2nd part series. The new second five-part series will be about the medics in the British Army. Keegan is set to play the role of an army medic, Corporal Georgie Lane who will be on a very risky and dangerous mission in Kenya. The filming of the second-part series of the army show will commence next year in January 2016, and will hit screens in late 2016.

On her interview with The Mirror, the 28 year old told the British national daily tabloid newspaper : – About “Being a massive fan of the BBC drama upcoming series Our Girl, and how she could not wait to be part of it.” She continued. “It will be something big for her, but challenging.” The star has reportedly made a £250,000 deal with the show after returning from her 2 week honeymoon in Maldives and Dubai. The shooting will take place in East Africa. One of the BBC sources was all praise about the newly wed saying “Keegan ticks all the box, she is not only talented, but also very popular.”

She has previously worked with them earlier this year in the first series of “Ordinary Lies”, where she appeared as Tracy. So, it comes as no surprise why they chose her to replace the current star of EastEnders, actress Lacey Turner. Only the talented actress could fill her shoes.
